Tropical Storm Isaac

Currently making its way towards the Gulf of Mexico, Tropical Storm Isaac is being nothing short of a complete and utter nuisance.

Along with affecting peoples day to day lives the storm is also affecting numerous cruise ships currently operating in the region. Since gracing us with its presence a week ago, Isaac has disrupted sailings on Carnival Legend, Carnival Destiny, Carnival Dream, Monarch of the Seas and Norwegian Gem.

Some ships have been forced to temporarily remain at sea since the port of Miami closed late on Saturday evening. It just has not been safe for the ships to return.

Those ships which are currently being impacted by Isaac are joint world’s largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean International’s, Allure of the Seas, along with, Majesty of the Seas, Carnival Valor, Carnival Imagination and Norwegian Sky.

The delays of course will impact the following cruises so anyone that is booked for the Caribbean region it is wise to contact your travel agent or the cruise line directly. As many people are probably panicking and jamming up the phone lines I may point out that so far the cruise lines are doing a great job keeping people updated via their facebook and twitter accounts.

Isaac is expected to grow in strength over the next 24-48 hours and is expected to reach Hurricane status so I have a feeling we have not seen the last of the disruptions yet.
