Two years ago my friend and I decided we would do a two month tour of the USA, we had a good idea of what we wanted to see and do and we made the decision to sail there and back via the Queen Mary 2. We were so excited, but sadly we ended up having to cancel our adventure because of various different reasons.
I was so looking forward to seeing the U.S. but one big aspect for me was also the chance to sail in and out of New York City on a grand ocean liner, I think that could be why the voyage I am going to tell you about today caught my eye.
The Cruise Line have put together an exclusive Independence Day cruise package aboard the Queen Mary 2 that not only offers you the chance to sail there and back, but to also take advantage of a 5 –night stay in New York and experience the big city un-rushed!
The Queen Mary 2 will depart Southampton on June 24th and sail for 6-days before reaching New York. You will be transferred from the ship to your hotel where you will enjoy a 5-night stay before re-joining Queen Mary 2 for your eastbound crossing back to Southampton. I think it sounds like a wonderful voyage and the fact it also includes tours just gives it an even bigger edge!
You will have the chance to sample the very best that the Big Apple has to offer including a tour of the world famous Rockefeller Centre, a private jeep tour around the City and tickets to catch a show on Broadway. The recommended show is Phantom of the Opera, but you can have tickets to something else if you would prefer. I have to admit Phantom of the Opera wouldn’t be my ‘cup of tea’ so to speak so I would be asking for an alternative.
I really do think the entire trip sounds amazing. I had already selected another voyage about a week or so before I found out about this one, had I known earlier I can honestly say I would have booked the above cruise and without a second thought! I think being in the U.S. during Independence Day weekend is also a big draw, the atmosphere I imagine will be electric!
So there you have it. I don’t share too many individual voyages with you that catch my eye, but I had to share this one as it is something that certainly appeals to the adventure seeker in me.
