92 Days Until The Caribbean Adventure

My next cruise is booked, and if I said I was excited that would be a complete lie because I’m not, not even a tiny bit……OK OK I am LYING!!! I absolutely cannot wait. This cruise will be a 35-night round-trip Caribbean adventure from Southampton. Quite possibly the cruise and travel experience of a lifetime.

We leave Southampton on what will be the newly refurbished P&O Cruises, Oceana, on January 2nd and head down towards Madeira, following Madeira it is a trip across the Atlantic Ocean until we reach our first Caribbean Island of Antigua. We then call at St Lucia, Barbados, Grenada and Aruba before transiting the Panama Canal. From here it is on to Roatan, Cozumel, Montego Bay in Jamaica, Tortola and then back across the Atlantic calling at Ponta Delgada on our way before reaching Southampton.

Now does that or does that not sound like heaven via cruise ship?!

My friend and I obviously have started planning but I must admit it has been very difficult, there is just so much to do and so many places to see it’s difficult to break it all down into digestible chunks, but, we are getting there. We have picked out one or two excursions, the rest we shall do ourselves.

Another exciting aspect of this cruise is that I will also be sending back live blogs which will appear on the P&O Cruises website and facebook, they may even tweet one every now and then too!

SO with that said, I suppose I should start more planning! Of course I have already checked which ships will be in port at the same time during the cruise, which I shall share with you tomorrow. Who knows, maybe some of you reading this will be on one of those ships!

  2. Sounds fab! I am off in around same time. Head off on the Queen Mary 2 from Southampton on 15 Dec to NYC and then down to Caribbean and back to New York. 21 night on board. Looking forward to it. Look forward to following your trip. I will be documenting mine! My last transatlantic I blogged about and proved popular, so that encouraged me: http://www.tipsfortravellers.com/2009/04/tuesday-14-april-2009-joining-queen.html
