When it comes to cruising or anything related to ships for that matter I simply cannot help myself. I love anything and everything nautical themed or maritime related from shopper bags to socks if I see it I have to have it. Some of my friends would call me “sad” for this but do I care, I think not.
You can imagine my delight when I came across an awesome little online store simply called Cruise Gift Store. The site is full of great little novelty gift ideas for the ship fanatic in your life along with other more useful items and home decorations.
When I am on my cruise I am always drawn to the on board shops, I think we all are really and we always seem unable to disembark unless we have purchased at least one branded item or in my case nautical themed item. That’s why I really like the idea of this website, it means home or at sea you can still fill your boots with some quirky little items. It also means easier shopping for you if it is your other half that is in fact the obsessor.
One thing that really stood out for me too was the towel origami book, my friend and I tried but failed miserably to re-create towel origami for our cabin steward (who I might add was the best towel folder I have ever come across) back on our cruise in September. We would return to the cabin to find monkey’s swinging from the air conditioning vents, elephants, snakes, bulldogs and one evening a huge peacock that was the width of my bed. In return we attempted to make some kind of turtle type creature except our towel skills were poor so to give it the hard shell look we improvised and stuffed the towel with a toilet roll (I know it was pitiful) but it kind of worked, our cabin steward was quite impressed anyway. By the end of the cruise our cabin was like the Jungle Book, I am sure had the cruise been any longer than 2 weeks people would have started to question where all the towels had suddenly gone! (They were in our cabin 🙂 )
I would recommend everyone have a browse at the site, some of the items really are great and I am currently waiting on receiving my port and starboard socks (I know I know but I like them, ok)
