Cruising With Susan Calman’ On The Rhine With Nicko Cruises

Nicko Cruises will feature across two episodes of Channel 5’s ‘Cruising with Susan Calman’ being screened at 8pm on Friday 27th January and Friday 3rd February. Susan cruised the Rhine on a ‘Highlights of Germany and Holland’ itinerary, onboard nicko’s ultra-modern, stylish nickoSPIRIT, a beautiful vessel accommodating 170 passengers.

In episode one, the Scottish comedian cruises through Germany and the Netherlands, boarding in Frankfurt with the first stop the fashion capital of Germany, Dusseldorf with the programme ending in with a canal trip in Amsterdam. In episode two, the voyage takes in the historic, picturesque town Enkhuizen, where Susan buys a pair of traditional clogs; Rotterdam with its famous windmills and where Susan went cycling and there were also visits to Nijmegen and Bonn.

Onboard nickoSPIRIT footage showed off the light flooded, elegant interior and Susan admired the spacious cabins with lowerable panoramic fronts.  The inimitable Susan chatted and socialised with passengers and befriended some fellow Brits on excursions, including one to the famous Keukenhof Gardens with its 7 million spring-flowering bulb displays.

Light Blue Travel represents nicko Cruises in the UK and their MD Rupert Thomson said: “It was a great pleasure to host Susan and the crew from ‘Cruising with Susan Calman’ on nickoSPIRIT.  The programmes are a wonderful showcase for nicko cruises and the superb river cruising product the company offers on the rivers of Europe; the cruise line is already very well known in Germany and the UK market is growing rapidly, thanks to the increase in the number of international / English speaking cruises now offered.”
