Stepping aboard the mps Lady Anne, the first thing that you notice is the relaxed atmosphere and the smiling faces of the crew, and you can tell straight away that this is going to be a great experience. The mps Lady Anne has been The River Cruise Line’s flagship since they began exploring the European waterways back in 2001, and it has been helping to create countless cherished holiday memories ever since.
The crew of the mps Lady Anne take great pride in their work, ensuring all of the ship’s passengers feel at home from the very first moment of their cruise. Captain Wido Arts has been both captain and owner of the Lady Anne for over 15 years, and for both him and his crew, their duties are so much more than just a job. Aside from upholding their excellent standards of customer service, the crew are eager to get to know you and share your passion for cruise and exploration. Their friendliness and dedication are two of the main reasons why the mps Lady Anne sees so many repeat guests each year.
On a trip with The River Cruise Line aboard the mps Lady Anne you can expect to be well taken care of. After travelling to the ship, you will be welcomed by the captain and the crew with a drink and an invite to the traditional ‘Captain’s get-together’ party. During your trip, you don’t need to worry about your meals as full board is provided from the ship’s excellent kitchen, and you will never be at a loss for something to do, as an exciting onboard entertainment programme will keep you busy.
The mps Lady Anne is operated exclusively for The River Cruise Line’s customers, and with a maximum capacity of just 100 passengers, you are bound to see a friendly face. The lounge bar forms the social hub of the ship, offering panoramic views, comfortable sofas and a welcoming atmosphere. The bar staff are on hand to provide you with stellar table service, leaving you free to mingle with your friends (and let’s be honest, the crew of any ship are what REALLY make a cruise extra special). After dinner, you can take to the dance floor to the sound of some toe-tapping tunes, or head to the bar for a night-cap before retiring to your cabin.
Speaking of dinner, the ship’s recently refurbished restaurant is located on the Passenger Deck and offers top-quality food throughout the day, with excellent service from the dedicated waiting staff. You can start your day with a full breakfast buffet, including cereal, fruit, yoghurt, cold meats, and cheeses or opt for a traditional cooked breakfast instead. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes for lunch, whilst in the evening you can sit down to a four-course meal prepared by the ship’s talented chef.
If the weather is fine, you can head up to the Sun Deck and get a closer look at the spectacular river valleys and plains as the ship glides along on her journey. You can kick back and relax on one of the deck’s many sun loungers, or settle down for a chat with your friends on the comfortable wicker deck furniture. The Sun Deck is also a great location if you are looking to have a quiet moment under the stars before you head back inside for a drink.
Spending time on the deck is perfect for summer breaks, such as The River Cruise Line’s Rhine cruise, where you can embark on a spectacular journey through the countries of the Rhine, gliding past picturesque towns and rich vineyards along the way. If you are wine connoisseur or even just like a small tipple, a great day out is Neustadt an de Weinstrasse, considered by many to be the secret wine capital of the Rhine.
The mps Lady Anne has a variety of cabins available to suit all needs. All of the cabins onboard have outside views of the river, en-suite shower facilities and a secure safe. For those hot summer months, cabins are all equipped with air conditioning to ensure you are comfortable no matter how warm it gets outside. The cabins are located across all three levels of the ship. The Passenger Deck hosts a mixture of single, double and triple berths, with windows or portholes along the waterline, whilst the Main Deck is made up of two berth cabins consisting of both standard and superior class cabins. The best cabins on the ship are located on the Promenade Deck, providing two single beds and a large view window.
Whether you have spent the day relaxing on the ship as it cruises the Dutch waterways, or going ashore to explore beyond the traditional tulips and windmills of the Netherlands, you can be sure that whichever cabin you decide to stay in, you will end the day in comfort.
I may be embarking on my very first river cruise next year, which is why I am sharing this post with you today as I want to know what YOU think?
